CLEVELAND, Miss. – Delta State hit three home runs, including two in the sixth inning, and held on for a 4-1 victory over the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Sunday at University Field.
With the win, DSU claimed the series 2-1.

- DSU hit three home runs in the game to help it earn the victory.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- DSU finished with a 7-6 advantage in hits.

Elaina McGill and
Bree Brady finished with two hits apiece. McGill and Brady both recorded doubles.
- Brady had the lone CBU RBI.
- Starting pitcher
McKenna Rose allowed four runs, two earned, on seven hits in 5.1 innings. The lefty also struck out five DSU hitters.
KEY PLAYS:
- After three scoreless innings, CBU took a 1-0 lead on Brady's RBI double. After Brady's double, CBU loaded the bases with one out, but struck out in back-to-back at bats.
- The Lady Statesmen took the lead in the bottom half of the same inning, on a two-run home run by Taylor Picou.
- In the fifth, CBU had the tying run thrown out at the plate.
- DSU added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth on back-to-back home runs, including Picou's second of the game.
- The Lady Bucs recorded three hits in the top of the seventh, but had a pair of runners erased on a double play.
