MEMPHIS - Visiting Delta State outscored the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team 23-10, and held on for a 78-70 victory, on Thursday night at Canale Arena. The Lady Bucs led 38-37 at halftime and by as many as eight points late in the third quarter.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After an evenly played first seven minutes, Delta State outscored the Lady Bucs 7-2 take a 21-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
- After trailing 26-20, the Lady Bucs went on an 11-1 run to take a 31-26 lead after a Lauren Taylor three pointer with 4:30 left in the half.
- Trailing 31-28, Delta State used a 9-3 run to regain the lead 35-34 with 1:38 remaining in the second quarter.
- Kelsey Adkins made a layup with 27 seconds left to give CBU a 38-37 halftime lead.
- CBU began the third quarter with a 6-0 run to build a 44-37 lead and remained in front, taking a 60-52 led on a Brynne Lytle 3-pointer with 53 seconds left in the third.
- CBU led 60-55 going into the fourth quarter.
- DSU responded, holding CBU scoreless for 6:14 in the fourth to build a 68-60 lead with under five minutes remaining.
- CBU scored the next six points, but DSU scored a layup with 38 seconds left to push the lead to 72-67.
- Brynne Lytle knocked down a three pointer with 31 seconds left to cut the lead to 72-70, but Delta State went 6-for-6 from the foul line, in the final 20 seconds, to earn the victory.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
- DSU held the Lady Bucs to 23-of-59 from the floor. CBU was 11-of-30 from three point range.
- The Lady Bucs knocked down 13-of-14 from the free throw stripe, including a 10-for-10 performance from Lytle.
- DSU dominated the paint, outscoring CBU 40-18.
- Brynne Lytle tied for a game high with 28 points. She has scored at least 24 points in the last 10 games.
- Kelsey Adkins added 15 points, while Lauren Taylor finished with 13.
- Lauren Taylor added 15 points and 10 rebounds, for her fifth double-double of the season.
- Taylor Williams finished the game with eight points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
