HUNTSVILLE, Ala - No. 25 Alabama Huntsville hit four home runs, including three in the opener, to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Saturday at Charger Park.
UAH held off the Lady Bucs 5-4, in game one, and earned the sweep with a 7-1 win in the nightcap.
GAME ONE: UAH 5 (13-6, 8-2 GSC), CBU 4 (9-15, 3-7)
GAME CHANGER:
- UAH scored four of its five runs via homers.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Both teams recorded six hits apiece.
- Two of the six CBU hits were home runs.

Ashley Dyer led the Lady Bucs, going 3-for-4 with a a two-run home run.

Bree Brady was 2-for-3 with an RBI single.

Caroline Gross was 1-for-3 with a home run.
- In a complete game effort, starting pitcher
McKenna Rose allowed five runs, four earned, with a walk and four strikeouts.
KEY PLAYS:
- UAH hit two of its home runs in the first and second innings to take a 3-0 lead.
- CBU got on the board in the third when
Caroline Gross hit a solo home run.
- With UAH up 5-2, in the fifth,
Ashley Dyer smacked a home run to get CBU to within 5-4.
- The Lady Bucs grounded into a double play to end the sixth, and left the tying run on board to end the game.
NOTABLES:
- The home run for Dyer gave her two for the season, which eclipses her total from her freshman campaign.
GAME TWO: UAH 7 (14-6, 9-2 GSC), CBU 1 (9-16, 3-8)
GAME CHANGER:
- UAH starting pitcher Ava Jacobs allowed just two hits in five innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- UAH finished with a 9-4 advantage in hits.
- Four players recorded a hit for CBU.

Kendall Westbrooks hit her third home run of the season.
- Dyer recorded two walks.
KEY PLAYS:
- After a scoreless first inning, UAH used a three run home run, in the second, to give it a 3-0 advantage.
- UAH added three more in the fifth and one in the sixth.
- Westbrooks' home run in the seventh finished the scoring.
