MEMPHIS - Montevallo had 35 kills and six blocks in a 3-0 win over the Christian Brothers University volleyball team, on Friday evening, at Canale Arena.
Montevallo 3, CBU 0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-16)
WHAT HAPPENED: Montevallo earned 25-16 wins in the second and third sets, taking advantage of 35 kills, six blocks and 27 Lady Buc errors.  Â
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the opening set, the Lady Bucs jumped out to an early 6-5 lead, but the Falcons took 10 of the next 12 points to help take the set.
- In the second set, Montevallo took advantage of 11 CBU errors and closed the set on a 15-3 run.
- The Falcons opened the deciding set on a 12-4 run and held CBU to a .038 hitting percentage to earn the sweep.Â
KEY STATS:
- Tia Rizvi led the Lady Bucs with eight kills.
- Kimmy Hammond finished with 10 digs and two assists.
- KaLea Davis finished with 17 assists, six digs, two aces and one block.
- Both teams finished with four aces.
