MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Alabama-Huntsville, on Saturday, at Canale Arena.
Alabama-Huntsville started the day in second place in the Gulf South Conference.
UAH 3, CBU 0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-14)
WHAT HAPPENED: UAH recorded 40 kills with a .326 hitting percentage, while holding the Lady Bucs to a .135 hitting percentage.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the opening set, the Lady Bucs jumped out to an early 13-12 lead, but the Chargers used a late 6-1 run to help take the set.
- In the second set, UAH led 15-11, but the Lady Bucs responded with a 6-0 run to take a two point lead. Trailing by two, the Chargers scored nine of the next 11 points to win the set.Â
- The Chargers opened the deciding set on a 11-5 run and took advantage of seven CBU errors.
KEY STATS:
- Tia Rizvi led the Lady Bucs with eight kills and one block.
- Maddie McGaha finished with seven kills and two blocks.
- KaLea Davis recorded 27 assists, eight digs, and two aces.
- The teams combined for 18 aces, with the visitors earning 10.
