Bucs Battle West Florida to 3-3 Draw

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Christian Brothers University soccer team battled the West Florida to a 3-3 draw, on Sunday, at the UWF Soccer Complex. Due to extremely heavy rain, along with unplayable field conditions, the match was called before an overtime period started. 

Chandler O'Dwyer scored two goals for the Bucs, who led the match on three occasions, but each time UWF found an equalizer.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
17' | CBU took its first lead of the match when Caleb Tammi sent a pass into the box that found Habib Binate, who then found Ryan Beckinsale for a back heel shot into the goal. 
42' | The Argonauts tied the match just before halftime on the first of three goals by Keegan Ancelin. 
HALF | The Bucs finished the first 45 minutes with a 10-7 advantage in shots. 
54' | Chandler O'Dwyer scored the first of his two goals when he headed home a cross from Brian Torre
57' | Just minutes later, Ancelin equalized for UWF. 
73' |  O'Dwyer gave the Bucs a 3-2 lead when he slotted home a well placed free kick from Jacob Daffern
86' | With less than five minutes left UWF equalized when Ancelin headed home a long-range cross from Ed Chappe. 
FINAL | The contest was halted before overtime could begin. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
  • The draw snapped a 10 match win streak for West Florida. The Bucs last earned a result against West Florida when they lifted the 2011 Gulf South Conference championship trophy after defeating UWF on penalty kicks. 
  • O'Dwyer now leads the Bucs, and the GSC, with seven goals. 
  • CBU finished the match with a 19-11 advantage in shots, while also forcing nine saves. 
  • Wayne Davis recorded four saves.
