MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a hard-fought 3-0 decision to Mississippi College, on Tuesday, at Canale Arena.
MC 3, CBU 0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-17)
WHAT HAPPENED: MC recorded 38 kills, nine aces, and eight blocks, while holding the Lady Bucs to a .040 hitting percentage.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In the opening set, CBU and MC matched point for point early on, but the Lady Bucs led 22-21 late. The Choctaws scored the next four points to take the set 25-22.
- In the second set, MC led 14-3 and held the Lady Bucs to a -.032 hitting percentage to take the set.
- The Choctaws opened the deciding set on a 11-6 run and took advantage of eight CBU errors.
KEY STATS:
- Maddie McGaha recorded four blocks, a new career high.
- Tia Rizvi and Jordan Allen each recorded two blocks.
- Kolbi Reed led the Lady Bucs with five kills.
- Aldon Pilz finished with 14 assists and four kills.
- The teams combined for 15 blocks, with the visitors earning eight.
