O'Dwyer, Davis Help Bucs Earn Shutout Win Over West Alabama

Memphis, Tenn. - Chandler O'Dwyer connected on a penalty shot in the 57th minute, and the Christian Brothers University men's soccer team earned a 1-0 shutout victory over West Alabama, on Saturday, on the campus of Christian Brothers High School.

The contest was the first home match of the 2021 Gulf South Conference Spring Championship Series.

In their last meeting (10.25.19), CBU defeated the Tigers by an identical 1-0 scoreline. That also marked the last clean sheet for goalkeeper Wayne Davis and the Bucs.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

HALF | The Tigers outshot the Bucs 3-2 in the first half. 
57' | Chandler O'Dwyer was awarded a penalty shot, which found the back of the net, after UWA goalkeeper, Jules Dechert, was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct.
FINAL | CBU's defense stayed strong as the Tigers had just one shot on target in 90 minutes of play, as the Bucs held on for the win.
