PENSACOLA, Fla. – No. 21 West Florida used a pair of big innings to earn a doubleheader sweep of the Christian Brothers University softball team, on Saturday, at the UWF Softball Complex. The Argonauts scored four runs in the sixth inning to earn an 8-6, come-from-behind win in the opener, and plated five in the fourth in an 11-3 (5) victory in game two.
GAME ONE: No. 21 West Florida 8 (16-7, 10-3 GSC) CBU 6 (2-13, 2-11 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
- Trailing 6-4, UWF scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- UWF finished the game with a 12-6 advantage in hits.
- The Argonauts had five extra base hits, including three doubles, a triple and a home run.

Kendall Westbrooks led CBU, going 2-for-4 with a two-RBI double.

Mackenzie Puckett and
Cara Alexander also had doubles.
KEY PLAYS:
- West Florida used a pair of RBI singles to jump ahead 2-0 in the first inning.
- The Lady Bucs answered with three runs in the second, when they scored a pair on a UWF miscue and an RBI single from
Ashley Dyer.
- In the third, the 2-RBI double from Westbrooks extended the CBU lead to 5--2.
- In the bottom half of the inning, Kara Wilson hit a two-run home run to get the hosts to within 5-4.
- CBU grew its lead to 6-4, in the fifth, on the RBI double by Alexander.
- In the sixth, the hosts took advantage of a run scoring triple, an RBI single and a two-run double.
- With CBU down to its final out, Westbrooks singled, but was left stranded.
NOTEABLES:
- The RBI for Alexander was the first of her CBU career.

GAME CHANGER:
- UWF scored six combined runs in the first two innings, and did not look back.

- After UWF plated three in the first inning, McGill smacked a two-run home run to get the Lady Bucs back within one.
- Trailing 6-2 in the fourth, Brady's home run cut the UWF lead to 6-3.
- In the fourth, UWF plated five runs, on five hits, to finish the scoring.
