Memphis, Tenn. – Jonathan Baldelli pitched eight innings, and allowed just one run, to help the Christian Brothers University baseball team win its home-opener against Alabama-Huntsville, on Saturday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. The Bucs earned a decisive 7-1 victory in game one, before falling 11-5 in the nightcap.

- The Bucs put up five runs in the third inning against UHA starter Tyler Self.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Bucs got on the board early with a 2-out RBI triple, by
Larry Hubbard, and took a 2-0 lead after one.
- Colin Brewer, of UAH, cut the Bucs lead in half with an RBI single in the top of the third that made it 2-1.
- The Bucs opened their half of the third with four straight hits, and saw seven of the first eight batters reached base to help score five runs in the frame. Wewers and
Payne Smith had RBI singles in the inning.
- CBU also capitalized on a pair of bases loaded walks in the big inning.
- Baldelli retired 12 of the next 14 batters he faced, before being taken out in the ninth inning, to help CBU hold on for the victory.

- The Chargers got on the board first as they took advantage of two wild pitches to lead 3-0 after one.
- The Chargers had three straight hits in the third inning, including two doubles, that helped lead to five runs. CBU walked three batters in the frame.
- After the Chargers tackled on an extra run in the top of the sixth, the Bucs responded with back-to-back doubles to plate three runs.
- Garrett Bodine, of UAH, tripled to lead off the seventh inning and came around to score on a base hit by Carson Villalta, to increase the lead to 11-3, after seven.
- In the ninth,
J.D. Goodspeed launched a two-run bomb to dead center field, but UAH recorded two straight outs to end the game.
