Macy Cumming pitched a complete game, and
Bree Brady drove in three runs to help the Christian Brothers University softball team split a doubleheader with Mississippi College, on Saturday, at St. Benedict at Auburndale High School.
The Lady Bucs came from behind to win the opener 6-5. MC held on to win the nightcap 7-4.

GAME CHANGER:
After allowing five runs (two earned) through the first two innings, Cumming allowed just one hit the rest of the way.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
The Lady Choctaws finished with a 5-3 advantage in hits.
The Lady Bucs walked nine times in the contest.
Bree Brady led CBU at the plate, going 1-for-2 with 3 RBIs.

KEY PLAYS:
MC opened the scoring in the first, when it took advantage of two CBU errors to lead 2-0.
The Lady Bucs loaded the bases in the bottom of the first, and took advantage of back-to-back hit batters to tie the game at two.
McCall Lee launched a three-run home run, in the second, to take a 5-2 lead.
CBU responded in the bottom of the second, when
Bree Brady cut the deficit to 5-4 with a two-run double to right field.
There was no further scoring, until the sixth, when Westbrooks drew a bases loaded walk and Brady hit a sac-fly to score what proved to be the game-winning run.
NOTEABLES:
The win for CBU marked its fifth straight victory, and was just its second against the Lady Choctaws since 2015.
The five straight wins are the most for CBU since 2012.
The Lady Bucs have now won seven GSC contests, which is tied for the most league victories since 2013.
GAME TWO: MC 7 (13-12, 11-8 GSC) CBU 4 (7-20, 7-16 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
MC took advantage of 11 hits, including four by Shelby Carlson.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
MC outhit the Lady Bucs 11-4.
Josie Bond led the Lady Bucs going 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Bree Brady went 1-for-4 with a homerun.
Kendall Westbrooks went 1-for-4 with a double.
Mackenzie Puckett started in the circle, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits, in 2.1 innings.
Kelsey Wurm allowed three runs in 4.2 innings or relief.
KEY PLAYS:
MC got on the board first capitalizing on a CBU miscue to lead 3-0 in the second inning.
In the second,
Bree Brady opened the inning with a solo homerun.
Also in the second, an RBI groundout from
Memory Willingham cut the deficit to 3-2.
Shelby Carlson added to the Lady Choctaws lead with an RBI single in the third to increase the lead to 4-2.
The Lady Bucs took advantage of a MC miscue to trail 4-3 after three.
MC added two insurance runs late to lead 6-3 in the fifth.
Bree Brady cut the deficit to 6-4 with an RBI groundout in the sixth.
Carlson singled in the seventh to help give MC an insurance run, which completed the scoring.

The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Sunday, April 11 when they look to earn the series win against Mississippi College. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM.
