MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Christian Brothers University baseball team was swept in the weekend series against GSC conference foe Valdosta State, on Sunday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. CBU fell 6-0 in the opener, and saw a rally come up short as CBU lost 9-7 in the nightcap.

VSU starting pitcher Tristan Cone allowed no runs, on eight hits with seven strikeouts in 6.2 innings.

Blake Dallas allowed five runs, three earned, on 12 hits with four strikeouts in 7.0 innings.
KEY PLAYS:
The Blazers offense got going early, scoring in each of the first three innings, including a homerun by Carson Neal, to lead 4-0.
The Bucs left at least one runner on base in eight out of the nine innings.
Nick Lewis and Ryan Delnegro, of VSU, each added a sac-fly to the Blazers run total, as VSU completed the 6-0 shutout.

Keagan Voss led CBU hitters, as he finished 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI's.

VSU starting pitcher Zach Blankenship allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits with four strikeouts in 6.0 innings.

KEY PLAYS:
Jay White, of CBU, got the Bucs on the board first with a sac-fly to lead 1-0 after two.
The Blazers went on to score nine unanswered runs to lead 9-1 after six.
The Bucs pitching settled down and their offense took charge to rally back.
CBU opened the seventh inning with three straight base runners, which helped cut the deficit to 9-3.
Jaime Soto opened the scoring in the eighth with an RBI-single to knock in one of four CBU runs in the inning.
Jakob Barker, of VSU, came in relief in the ninth and struck out two to earn his sixth save of the season.
