ROME, Ga. - The Christian Brothers University softball team pounded out a season-high 15 hits on its way to a to a 12-2 win over Shorter, on Saturday, at Alto Park.
The three-game sweep marked the first for CBU over a Gulf South Conference opponent since the league moved to the format in 2014.

CBU had a season-high 15 hits.

The Lady Bucs outhit Shorter 15-5.
CBU tied its season high with four doubles.
Josie Bond and
Kendall Westbrooks led the Lady Bucs with three hits apiece. Westbrooks scored a game-high three runs.
Bree Brady led CBU with 4 RBIs.

Elaina McGill, Westbrooks, and Brady all recorded a double.Â
Starting pitcher
Macy Cumming allowed one run on just three hits, with four strikeouts, in six innings of work.
KEY PLAYS:
After two scoreless innings, a two-RBI double from Brady gave the Lady Bucs the lead.
CBU added single runs in the fourth, and fifth innings, on an RBI double by McGill and a run-scoring single by
Mackenzie Puckett.
After CBU scored two more runs in the sixth, Shorter scored the first of its two runs on a solo home run.
CBU put the game away with six runs in the top of the seventh, which was highlighted by Bond's two-RBI double.
Shorter finished the scoring in the seventh, when it scored on a passed ball.
NOTEABLES:
With the three-game sweep of Shorter, the Lady Bucs earned their first three-game sweep since the league went to the new format (2014).
CBU has now won six GSC contests, which is its most league victories since 2013 (seven).
Brady tied a career-high with four RBIs.
