Bucs Fall in Slugfest at West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. - The Christian Brothers University baseball team dropped a 15-8 contest to West Georgia, on Sunday, at Cole Field. The game saw a combined 23 runs and 29 hits. 

FINAL: West Georgia 15 (18-21, 17-19 GSC) CBU 8 (5-32 3-32 GSC) 
 
GAME CHANGER:
- The Wolves had six extra-base hits, including three home runs in the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Wolves outhit the Bucs 15-14.
- The Bucs left 12 runners on base.
- Luke Wewers led the Bucs, going 2-for-4 with two home runs and a walk.
- Jamarion White finished with a team-high three hits. 
- Antonio Fernandez, Jaime Soto and Andrew Baldelli finished with two hits apiece. 

KEY PLAYS:
- The Bucs got on the board first, with two runs in the second, using a home run from Smith and an RBI groundout from Andrew Baldelli
- The Wolves, in the bottom of the second, when they got on the board with a bases loaded walk. 
- Luke Wewers added to the Bucs lead with a home run in the third to extend their lead to 3-1.
- UWG took the lead with four in the third inning, using a three-run home run by Collin Moore. 
- In the fourth, Keagan Voss drove in Soto to get the Bucs to within 5-4. 
- In the next three innings, the Wolves capitalized on four CBU miscues scoring 10 runs, to increase the lead 15-8.
- Wewers' second home run of the game and an RBI single by Baldelli finished the scoring for CBU.
