JACKSON, Tenn - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Union in its Gulf South Conference opener, on Tuesday, at Fred DeLay Gymnasium.
Union 3, CBU 0 (25-19, 25-10, 25-11)
WHAT HAPPENED: Union had a .418 hitting percentage, while the Lady Bucs hit .058. Union also finished the contest with a 7-0 advantage in blocks. The Lady Bulldogs had just five errors in the contest.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In an evenly played first set, the Lady Bucs trailed 20-19, but the hosts reeled off a 5-0 run to earn the win.
- The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early 15-5 lead and never looked back as they took the second set 25-10.
- In the deciding set, Union jumped out to a 16-5 lead and coasted to a 25-11 victory.
KEY STATS:
- Kolbi Reed led the Lady Bucs with eight kills.
- Aldon Pilz finished with 18 assists, a career high. Pilz has 33 assists over the last two contests.
- Kimmy Hammond had seven digs, two assists, and an ace.

The Lady Bucs are scheduled to travel to Rome, Ga., on Friday Sept. 24th, where they will face GSC foe Shorter. The match is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
