Montevallo Uses Big Second Half to Defeat Bucs

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Neither team lead by more than three points in the opening 10 minutes of the contest. 
  • A layup by Daniel Loos gave the hosts a 22-16 lead with 3:04 left in the half. 
  • Montevallo used an 8-2 run to tie the game at 24 at the break. 
  • The Bucs were 11-30 from the floor in the opening half, including just 2-8 from long-range. Montevallo made 10 of its 30 shots, and were held to just 1-11 beyond the three point line. 
  • An evenly played opening five minutes, of the second half, saw the Falcons lead 30-29. 
  • Montevallo then used a 14-6 run to take a 44-35 lead with 12:29 left. 
  • A layup by Loos got the Bucs cut the lead to 51-47 with 5:38 left. 
  • The Falcons then scored 14 of the next 20 points to win the game.
