HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bucs hit six of their first 10 shots and raced out to a 12-3 lead.
- CBU led until Memphis used a 13-2 run to take a 27-24 lead, with 6:03 left until halftime.
- The Tigers scored nine of the final 12 points of the half to take a 36-27 lead into the break.
- A Jonathan Lawson three pointer, at the buzzer, was the first long-range make of the half for the Tigers.
- The Bucs held U of M to just 12-of-34 (36 percent) in the first half, including just 1-of-9 from three point range.
- Memphis had a narrow 26-23 rebounding edge in the first half.
- The Bucs used a quick 6-2 spurt to cut the lead to 42-39 with 15:24 left.
- With eight minutes left, a layup by Madison Monroe cut the Memphis lead to 52-48.
- The Tigers responded with a 17-4 run to take a 69-52 lead.
- CBU finished the contest with an 8-0 run to finish the scoring.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
- CBU held the Tigers to just 38.5 percent shooting, and just 2-19 from three point range.
- The Bucs finished 35.5 percent shooting, including 9-for-22 (41 percent) from the three point line.
- Memphis used 17-22 from the free throw stripe to help its cause. CBU converted seven of its 11 free throw attempts.
- Kam Vick led the Bucs with 16 points. The Little Rock, Ark., native was a perfect 4-of-4 from long-range.
- Nick Deifel added 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals.
- Madison Monroe rounded out the CBU double figure scorers with 12 points. He also added a team-high eight boards.
- The 2022 AAC Player of the Year, Kendric Davis, led the Tigers with a game-high 22 points. Davis converted 12-of-13 from the free throw stripe.
