MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team closed out its home schedule with a victory over Rhodes, on Saturday evening, at Canale Arena. The Lady Bucs opened the day with a 3-2 setback to West Georgia, in a Gulf South Conference contest, before knocking off Rhodes 3-0.

WHAT HAPPENED:
UWG took advantage of 13 blocks and 10 aces, as the closely contest saw the final two sets decided by just two points.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- CBU started hot, as it had a match-high 14 kills and just five errors in the first set win.
- UWG took advantage of 11 CBU attack errors to tie the match at one.
- The Wolves won the third set, using a team-high 11 kills and just three errors.
- Neither team lead by more than three points, until the Lady Bucs used a 5-1 run to take an 18-12 lead.
- The Wolves then fought back to tie the match at 20.
- With the score tied at 23, the Lady Bucs used a kill from Tia Rizvi and took advantage of a UWG miscue to force a fifth set.
- After the deciding set was tied at 11, the Wolves had two straight kills and a service ace to take a 14-11 lead.
- CBU fought off two match points before the visitors scored the winning point.

WHAT HAPPENED:
The Lady Bucs finished with a season-high .290 hitting percentage to earn the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- CBU finished with a match-high 16 kills and just four miscues in the first set victory.
- The Lady Bucs hit .333 and took advantage of seven Rhodes errors to take a 2-0 lead.
- After CBU took a 5-1 lead, a 7-2 run from Rhodes gave it an 8-2 lead.
- The Lady Bucs responded, scoring eight of the next 10 points to take a 20-14 lead.
- CBU then scored three of the last four points to finish the match.
KEY STATS:
- Maysen Bruschke paced the Lady Bucs with a match-high 11 kills.
- Kimmy Hammond added a season-high four service aces and 10 digs.
- The 10 aces for CBU were its second-highest total of the season.
- Aldon Pilz finished with a season-high 21 assists.
