MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Christian Brothers University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Montevallo, on Saturday afternoon, at the Student Activity Center.
FINAL SCORE:
UM 3 (15-6, 7-2), CBU 0 (3-12, 2-7), (25-21, 25-14, 25-16)
WHAT HAPPENED:
Montevallo tallied 46 kills, with at least 13 in each set, to earn the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- A closely played first set saw the hosts take a 20-16 lead, but the Lady Bucs responded with six of the next seven points to cut the lead to 22-21.
- The Falcons then scored the next three points to earn the first set win.
- Leading 12-10, Montevallo scored five straight points to take control of the set. After taking an 18-13 lead, the Falcons reeled off seven of the next eight points to win the set.
- In the third set, the Falcons had a match-high 17 kills to earn the win.
KEY STATS | NOTEABLES:
Maysen Bruschke led the CBU offense with eight kills. This marks the eighth time this season that Bruschke has at least eight kills.
Kimmy Hammond finished with 17 digs.
Aldon Pilz had 13 assists, her second-highest total of the season.
