HOW IT HAPPENED
- DSU started the contest by scoring 14 of the first 20 points.
- After the Bucs tied the game at 19, at the 8:33 mark, they used a 9-2 tun to take a 28-21 lead with 3:33 left in the half.
- After leading by as many as seven, the Bucs took a 30-25 lead into halftime
- CBU shot 45 percent (13-29) in the opening half.
- The Bucs shot 6-of-8 from the field to open the second half, and led 45-40 with 13:49 left.
- With seven seconds remaining, Maalik Cartwright, of DSU, slammed home a go-ahead dunk off an offensive board.
- With no timeouts remaining, Aiden Ruthsatz made a drive to the basket, and was fouled with .7 seconds remaining.
- After tying the game at 69, Ruthsatz was unable to capitalize on the second free throw opportunity, sending the game into overtime.
- In overtime, DSU shot 4-of-6, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, and 8-of-8 from the stripe to earn the win.
