GAME ONE: MC 10 (10-5, 3-1 GSC) CBU 2 (3-10, 0-1 GSC) (6)
GAME CHANGER:
The Choctaws scored eight runs over the first three innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
MC outhit the Lady Bucs 11-5.
The Choctaws took advantage of six walks.
MC had five extra base hits, including three doubles, a triple and a home run.
Mackenzie Pucket led the Lady Bucs with two hits.
Josie Bond and
Kendall Westbrooks finished with a double, while
Ashley Dyer added a triple.
KEY PLAYS:
MC hit a three-run home run to take a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
The Chcotaws added a pair in the second and three in the third.
Memory Willingham got the Lady Bucs on the board in the fifth with a sac fly.
In the sixth, an RBI single for Puckett finished the scoring for CBU.
MC added a pair in the sixth to finish the game.
GAME TWO: CBU 5 (4-10, 1-1 GSC) MC 3 (10-6 3-2 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
With the game tied at three, in the sixth,
Ashley Dyer smacked what proved to be the game-winning home run.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
Both teams finished with nine hits apiece.
Ashley Dyer, Mackenzie Puckett and Cara Alexander finished with two hits each.
Dyer and Puckett both hit home runs. Puckett finished with three RBIs.
Puckett pitched all seven innings, allowing three unearned runs on nine hits, with four strikeouts and five walks.
KEY PLAYS:
The Lady Bucs jumped ahead 2-0 in the first when Puckett delivered a bases loaded single with two outs.
In the third, an RBI single by
RJ Simpson increased the lead to 3-0.
MC took advantage of a CBU error to tie the game at three, in the fourth.
Dyer led off the sixth with a solo home run to give CBU a 4-3 lead.
Puckett forced MC to strand a pair of runners in the sixth.
Puckett helped her cause in the seventh when she led off the inning with a home run.
The Choctaws loaded the bases with two outs in the seventh, but a fly out to left ended the game.
