Lady Bucs Break Records in Win Over LeMoyne-Owen

MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University softball team tied a Gulf South Conference record for runs in a game with a 37-0 win over LeMoyne-Owen, on Wednesday, at Bland Field. 

The 37 runs are the most scored by a GSC team since Delta State accomplished the feat against Mississippi Valley State in 1999. The Lady Bucs are also now tied for second in GSC single-game history with Alabama Huntsville (26-2018). CBU also drew 17 walks, which is tied for third in GSC history (2000-Central Arkansas).

This marked the first home game at Bland Field since March 8, 2020. 

FINAL SCORE: CBU 37 (5-11) LOC 0 (0-2)

GAME CHANGER:
CBU scored at least eight runs in each of its four innings, and hit two grand slam home runs.

The Lady Bucs capitalized on 10 LOC miscues. 
RJ Simpson and Kiera Coulon both hit grand slams, and drove in five runs apiece. 
Kendall Westbrooks also finished 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs. Westbrooks also scored five runs.
