Bucs Fall to Ouachita Baptist in Non-Conference Contest

MEMPHIS -  The Christian Brothers University baseball dropped an 11-4 decision to Ouachita Baptist, on Tuesday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field.

GAME CHANGER:
- The Tigers scored four runs in the sixth.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Ouachita Baptist finished with a 12-9 advantage in hits.
- Jarret Fowlkes and Antonio Fernandez both recorded two hits and an RBI.
- Ben Brocato added a pair of hits and two runs.
- Kelton Castillo, Justin Donovan and Matthew McDaniel each recorded a hit. 
- CBU starting pitcher Jackson Ryan went 3.2 innings allowing five runs, two earned, on six hits, with three walks.
- CBU left 15 runners on base

KEY PLAYS:
- Ouachita Baptist got on the board early with a combined five runs in the second and third innings.
- The Bucs took advantage of OBU errors in the second and third to cut the lead to 5-2.
- In the sixth, the Tigers added four runs on three hits to extend the lead to 9-3. 
- OBU relievers allowed just one hit over the final three innings.

NOTEABLES:
- Ryan made his first collegiate start.
- Relief pitcher Banks Caughman finished with a career-high three strikeouts.
- This marked the first game against the former Gulf South Conference foes since 2019.

The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 12, when they travel to face GSC opponent Montevallo. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader is set for 1 p.m.
