Bucs Drop Pair of Contests to Delta State


GAME ONE: #25 DELTA STATE 9 (28-13, 18-7 GSC) CBU 4 (11-33, 6-22 GSC)
 
GAME CHANGER:
- Delta State scored six runs, on five hits, in the second inning. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Both teams finished with 12 hits.
- Seven Bucs recorded a hit. 
- Van True led the Bucs going 3-for-5 with a pair of triples, and two RBI's.
- Keagan Voss also recorded three hits.
- Ben Brocato and Antonio Fernandez each had an RBI. 
- CBU reliever Jacob Barney did not allow a hit in two innings of work.

KEY PLAYS:
- Delta State got on the board early with six runs in the second inning.
- True got the Bucs on the board with an RBI-triple in the third to trail 6-1.
- The Statesmen combined for three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to lead 9-2. 
- The Bucs added a run in the seventh and ninth, but the Statesmen held on for the win.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- CBU finished with an 8-7 advantage in hits.
- Six Bucs recorded a hit.
- Jarret Fowlkes and Matthew McDaniel led the Bucs with two hits each.
- Ben Brocato, Seth Brown, Kelton Castillo, and J.D. Goodspeed each recorded a hit.
- CBU starting pitcher, Joseph Gibson, allowed three runs, on seven hits, with four strikeouts in six innings.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Statesmen got on the board early with three runs in the second inning.
- In the fourth, Goodspeed got the Bucs on the board with an RBI-double to trail 3-1.
- In the seventh, the Bucs had the tying run on base, but DSU reliever, Steven Lacey, forced a double-play to hold on for his third save of the year.
