Bastian Resigns as Head Softball Coach

MEMPHIS - Christian Brothers University Director of Athletics Donna Crone has announced that Jordan Bastian, who has led the softball program since 2019, has resigned her position to dedicate more time to her family.
A search for the next head softball coach will begin immediately.

"I am so very thankful for the opportunity I was given at Christian Brothers University," said Bastian. "During my time at CBU I met so many wonderful people, and have made memories I will cherish for a lifetime. Although the decision to leave was a very difficult one, my heart is full from the love and support I have received from my players, coworkers and the University. I have cherished my time here, and will be forever grateful for these last three years."

Under Bastian the Lady Bucs recently completed one of the best campaigns in program history, claiming a school record 10 Gulf South Conference victories. Among the wins was a 9-3 triumph over No.2 Auburn Montgomery, which has recently claimed the GSC Tournament crown and has advanced to the NCAA South Super Regional.

Over the last two seasons Bastian has led the Lady Bucs to 17 GSC victories, which is tied for the most in program history (2004-05).

Bastian also helped CBU earn its first GSC weekly awards, since they were established in 2012, as Josie Bond and RJ Simpson were named GSC Freshman of the Week.

The Lady Bucs broke numerous team records this season, including slugging percentage (.434), on base percentage (.477), runs (290), home runs (45), RBIs (247) and total bases (521).

"We are thankful to Jordan for leading our program for the past three seasons, and are respectful of her decision to dedicate more of her time to family," said Crone. "She helped take our program into a promising new direction, and we are excited to see it continue to grow."
