Lady Bucs Drop Hard-Fought Contest at Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. - The Christian Brothers University women's basketball team dropped a hard-fought 66-64 decision at Mississippi College, on Monday night, at A.E. Wood Coliseum.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A free throw from Isabella Jones gave CBU a 10-9 lead at the midway point of the first quarter. 
  • The Lady Bucs scored the last three points of the period to take a 21-15 lead. 
  • CBU took advantage of 14 first quarter free throw attempts, with nine makes. 
  • The teams combined for just 9-29 from the floor, in the second quarter, as CBU took a 35-29 lead into halftime. 
  • A layup by Kallie Searcy put CBU up 41-33, with 6:50 left in the third quarter. 
  • The hosts used a 14-6 run to tie the contest at 47, heading into the final period. 
  • MC scored seven of the first nine points, to open the fourth quarter, giving it a 54-49 lead. 
  • With CBU trailing 63-59, with 36 seconds left, Ever Walker knocked down a three pointer to cut the lead to one. 
  • Following a made basket by MC, Walker was fouled on a three point attempt, with six seconds left. 
  • After Walker converted two-of-three free throws, MC missed one of two, giving CBU a chance to tie the game, or win it.
  • CBU quickly ran the length of the court, but had its desperation layup roll of the back of the rim.

  • MC finished 23-53, including 11-21 in the second half. 
  • CBU finished 21-55, but made just three of its nine three point attempts.
