MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University women's basketball team saw its comeback bid fall short in an 80-78 loss to Alabama Huntsville, on Saturday afternoon, at Canale Arena.

The Lady Bucs trailed by 14 points in the third quarter before taking a tying the game with 1:18 left.

Before the game CBU honored seniors Darcy Doran, Selena Pruitt, Anna Ehala and Yaya Coleman.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Defense led the way for CBU, as it led 11-3 less than four minutes into the contest.
UAH closed on a 9-4 run to cut the CBU lead to 17-14 after the first quarter.
A Kallie Searcy jumper put CBU up 24-19 2:28 into the second quarter.
UAH used an 11-2 run, over the final 2:35 to take a 40-34 lead into halftime.
The Chargers were 10-17 in the second quarter, including 5-11 from three point range.
UAH continued its hot shooting to take a 59-45 lead with 2:14 left in the third quarter.
The visitors were 7-15 in the third quarter, while CBU managed just 4-13.
A pair of Selena Pruitt free throws cut the deficit to 61-53 going into the final quarter.
CBU didn't go away, as it fought back to trail 65-64 with 5:22 remaining.
After the score was tied at 70, with 1:18 left, UAH went 3-3 from the floor and knocked down 5-7 free throws to win the game.
CBU scored five points in the final six seconds, including a Pruitt three pointer at the buzzer.
