MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University baseball team scored 21 runs, over two games, in a doubleheader sweep of Brescia, on Sunday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. The Bucs took the opener 11-2 and finished the sweep with a 10-2 victory.
With the win, the Bucs earned their first 3-0 start since 2011.
GAME ONE: CBU 11 (2-0) BU 0 (0-2)
GAME CHANGER:
The Bucs used a pair of home runs to put up a seven spot in the bottom of the second inning.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Bucs finished with a 13-4 advantage in hits.
- CBU had seven extra base hits, including five doubles.
- Dalton Pyzer finished 4-5 with a pair of doubles and an RBI.
- Ben Brocato was 2-5 with a home run and three RBIs.
- Jarret Fowlkes was 1-4 with a 3-RBI double.
- Seth Brown was 2-5 with two doubles.
- In his collegiate debut, Jackson Sleeper allowed one run and one hit with six strikeouts.
- In his first collegiate outing, Chance McGaughey pitched four scoreless innings to earn the save.

In the seven-run second inning, Fowlkes had a bases-clearing double, and
Clay Facteau and
Ben Brocato both smacked two-run home runs.
CBU added three runs in the fifth.
Brescia added a run in the sixth to finish the scoring.

GAME CHANGER:
Making his college debut, on the mound,
Charlie Faoro allowed one run, on just one hit, in five innings of work.

The Bucs plated a pair in the bottom of the first, using a double steal and a sac fly from Hobson.
CBU added four in the second, which was highlighted by a two-RBI triple by Hobson.
The Bucs added three in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Brescia plated a run in the seventh to finish the scoring.
