Lady Bucs Come Up Short at Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. - Montevallo earned an 81-64 victory over the Christian Brothers University women's basketball team, on Thursday night, at Trustmark Arena. 

The Falcons converted 22 CBU miscues to 29 points and outscored the Lady Bucs 36-18 in the paint.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After the Falcons opened up the contest with a 10-3 lead, Jeremia Montgomery knocked down a three pointer to cut the deficit to 12-7 at the midway point of the first quarter. 
  • Kallie Searcy scored two of her six first quarter points when her hook shot fell to cut the Montevallo lead to 19-12 after the first quarter. 
  • The hosts used an 11-1 run to take a 45-25 lead into halftime. 
  • Montevallo shot 8-16 in the second quarter and knocked down 4-6 from three point range. 
  • The Falcons took advantage of 17 CBU miscues in the first half. 
  • CBU made a team high seven field goals in the third quarter, but Montevallo used a 21-17 quarter to grow its lead to 66-42.
  • In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bucs took advantage of 10-14 from the free throw line to outscore the Falcons 22-15 in the final quarter.
