Bethel Comes From Behind to Defeat Bucs


FINAL: BU 12 (9-18) | CBU 9 (11-18) 

GAME CHANGER:
The Bucs lead 9-0 after six innings, but Bethel used a nine-run seventh to tie the game. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • CBU outhit the Wildcats 13-10. 
  • Bethel took advantage of four CBU miscues, including three in the seventh inning. 
  • Clay Facteau led the Bucs at the plate, finishing 4-5 with five RBIs.
  • Facteau was a home run short of hitting for the cycle. 
  • Justin Donovan, Charlie Faoro and Jay White added two hits apiece.
  • One of the two hits for Faoro was a triple. 
  • White also drove in a pair of runs with a double.  
KEY PLAYS:
The Bucs plated three in the first, using RBI doubles from Facteau and White. 
Leading 4-0, in the fourth, the Bucs extended the lead to 6-0 on a two-RBI triple by Facteau. 
CBU scored three in the fifth, using run-scoring singles by Facteau and Shahkai Matthews, along with a sac fly from Faoro. 
Bethel started its comeback with a nine-run seventh inning, using five hits while also capitalizing on three CBU miscues. 
The Wildcats added three more runs in the eighth on a sac fly and an RBI single. 
CBU had the bases loaded, with one out, in the eighth but failed to score a run. 

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, March 22 when they travel to Ouachita Baptist for a non-conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM.
