Bucs Power Past LeMoyne-Owen

GAME CHANGER: INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • CBU outhit the Magicians 15-4.
  • The Bucs had six extra-base hits, including four doubles and two home runs. 
  • Jarret Fowlkes finished 4-5 with two doubles, a home run and four RBIs. 
  • Dalton Pyzer was 3-4 with a double, a home run and four RBIs. 
  • Justin Donovan and Tate Gentleman drove in three runs apiece. 
  • Clay Facteau was 2-2 with a pair of RBIs. 
  • Starting pitcher Jacob Sitton worked three innings without allowing a hit, while striking out five. 
KEY PLAYS:
The Bucs used a two-run home run from Fowlkes to help take a 4-0 lead in the top of the first. 
CBU put up a six spot in a second inning that was highlighted by two-RBI singles from Donovan and Gentleman. 
Fowlkes and Facteau had back-to-back doubles to help the Bucs score four in the third. 
After adding a run in the fourth, CBU finished the scoring when Pyzer hit a towering home run, to right field, in the seventh. 

NOTABLES:
The three RBIs for Gentleman are a career-high
The win for Sitton is the first of his collegiate career. 
Fowlkes hit his first home run of the season. 
Pyzer has four games with at least four RBIs. 

UP NEXT:
The Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Friday, April 14 when they travel to Clinton, Miss., for a three-game Gulf South Conference series with Mississippi College. First pitch for Friday's doubleheader is set for 3 PM CT.
