Lady Bucs Come up Short at No. 19 Mississippi College

CLINTON, Miss. - The Christian Brothers University softball team came up just short, as it dropped the series finale 3-1 to No. 19 Mississippi College, on Saturday afternoon, at the MC Softball Complex. 

FINAL SCORE: No. 19 MC 3 (33-7, 19-5 GSC) CBU 1 (10-29, 3-21 GSC) 

GAME CHANGER:
With CBU leading 1-0, the Choctaws scored what proved to be the winning runs in the fourth inning. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE: KEY PLAYS:
CBU broke the deadlock in the third when a sacrifice fly by Alexander scored Riley Simpson
The Lady Bucs left a pair of runners stranded in the inning. 
After a rain delay, MC took the lead in the fourth using a sac fly and an RBI double. 
The Choctaws took advantage of three walks in the inning. 
MC added a sac fly in the sixth to finish the scoring. 

NOTABLES:
Over the three-game series, the 14 runs allowed by CBU pitching is the second-fewest scored by MC in a GSC series this season. 

UP NEXT:
The Lady Bucs are scheduled to return to action on Tuesday, April 18, when they travel to No. 18 Harding for a non-conference doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 4 PM.
