Lee Uses Late Push to Defeat Bucs

Memphis - The Christian Brothers University baseball team erased a three-run deficit, but Lee  used a late push to earn a 7-3 victory, on Sunday afternoon, at Nadicksbernd Field. The contest marked the season finale for the Bucs. 
 
FINAL SCORE:  Lee 7 (25-20, 14-13 GSC) | CBU 3 (19-30, 7-23 GSC)
 
GAME CHANGER:
After the Bucs erased a 3-0 lead, Lee added four runs to win 7-3.
 
 INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Lee finished with a 12-7 advantage in hits. 
  • Matthew McDaniel and Clay Facteau led the Bucs with two hits apiece. 
  • A two-run home run from Facteau was the lone extra-base hit for CBU. 
  • The Bucs left 12 runners on base.
KEY PLAYS:
Lee opened the scoring with three runs in the first using  two extra-base hits. 
The Bucs were able to answer with an RBI single from McDaniel  in the second.
The two-run shot from Facteau tied the game at three in the third. 
The Flames added a run in both the sixth and seventh innings, followed by two in the eighth to secure the victory.
CBU had a late rally end in the eighth, but left the bases loaded. 
 
NOTABLES:
CBU finished the season with its most wins since 2008 (19).
