MEMPHIS — Christian Brothers University Athletics recorded its 14th consecutive academic semester with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of over 3.0, as nearly 250 student-athletes recorded a 3.22 GPA for the 2023 spring term.
The 3.22 GPA is the best for CBU athletics since the Spring of 2020..
In total, 13 teams finished with a GPA of 3.0 or better. CBU saw 46 student-athletes record a 4.0 Spring semester GPA.
"I would like to thank our student-athletes, coaches, professors, and advisors who have dedicated themselves to achieving a long-time goal for our department," said Director of Athletics Donna Crone. "For our student-athletes to achieve a department-wide GPA of over 3.2, while competing at such a high level, is an accomplishment we should all be proud of."
The women's golf team contributed the highest GPA of all teams with a 3.56, while men's cross country had the highest mark among male student-athletes with a 3.45. Five women's teams (golf, tennis, soccer, cross country, softball). softball) wrapped up the spring semester with at least a 3.3 GPA.
Four men's teams finished with at least a 3.2 GPA (cross country, golf, tennis, soccer).
