Lady Bucs Drop Gulf South Conference Opener to Union

MEMPHIS - The Christian Brothers University women's soccer team dropped its Gulf South Conference opener, in a 2-0 setback to Union, on Friday evening at Signaigo Field. The Bulldogs scored a goal in each half of the contest. 

FINAL SCORE:
UU  2 (2-2, 1-0)
CBU 0 (1-2-2, 0-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
18' | The visitors opened the scoring when Hannah Peterson headed home a free kick from Ines Gama. 
HALF | After the opening 45 minutes, CBU had a narrow 4-3 edge in shots. 
54' | Union doubled its lead when Ines Gama found the back of the net with a long-range effort. 
64' | CBU had one of its best chance of the match when Erika Pay had her well-struck shot, from the top left of the box, saved by Rylee Iorio. 
90' | The Lady Bucs were held without a shot for the final 15 minutes of the contest.

  • CBU finished the contest with a 13-8 advantage in shots, but the visitors had a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
