Lady Bucs Defeat Georgia College

MEMPHIS - Flavia Iorio headed home a corner kick from Cammie Jernigan to help give the Christian Brothers University women's soccer team a 1-0 victory over Georgia College, on Sunday afternoon, at Signaigo Field.

This marked the final non-conference matchup of the year for the Lady Bucs. 

FINAL SCORE:
CBU 1 (2-2-2)
GC  0 (2-2-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:
21' | The Lady Bucs had their best chance of the half when Lia Haggstrom had a close-range shot saved by the goalkeeper. 
HALF | The Bobcats outshot CBU 3-2 in the opening half. 
51' | Iorio scored what proved to be the game-winner when her powerful header, off a corner kick from Jernigan, beat the Bobcat goalkeeper. 
90' | The Lady Bucs held the visitors without a second half shot on goal until Aralyn Everett had her shot easily saved by Chloe Hillyer, with 49 seconds remaining. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES
  • Georgia College finished with a narrow 8-7 edge in shots. Both teams had three shots on goal.
