Women's Soccer comes up short at UAH

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Christian Brothers women's soccer (0-9-0, 0-5-0 GSC) was defeated by Alabama-Huntsville (5-4-1, 4-1-1 GSC) by a final score of 2-0 on Friday evening at Charger Park. The Bucs held UAH scoreless for more than 60 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • CBU goalkeeper Gemma Crowe faced 11 shots and made three saves in the first half to keep the Chargers off the scoreboard.
  • Alexa Franklin and Ana Dutra both came close to scoring in the 21st and 36th minutes, respectively. Both of their shots were saved by Alabama-Huntsville's keeper.
  • The Bucs were held to zero shots in the second half while UAH reproduced its first half shot total.
  • The go-ahead goal was scored by Alabama-Huntsville's Jayla Gillespie in the 63rd minute. A brace from Carmen Endicott was added in the 74th minute.
  • Crowe made five saves in the second half to bring her saves total on the night up to eight, which was a career-high for the senior keeper.

CBU will travel to West Alabama (1-5-3, 0-3-3 GSC) this Sunday, Oct. 13 for a 1 p.m. conference clash.
