Lady Bucs stumble on the road against West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. – Christian Brothers women's soccer (0-10-0, 0-6-0 GSC) fell to West Alabama (2-5-3, 1-3-3 GSC) by a final score of 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Buccaneers actually outshot the Tigers, 14-12, despite the defeat.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • UWA scored in the fourth minute of the match to create an early deficit for the Lady Bucs.
  • CBU went on the offensive for the remainder of the first half and shot seven times in search of an equalizer. Cristal Tellez's shot in the 31st minute and Lara Rodriguez's shot in the 35th minute both required saves by the opposing keeper.
  • Shortly after a yellow card was shown to Christian Brothers, the Tigers added a brace in the 64th minute.
  • Again, the Lady Bucs went on the attack to try to overcome the two-goal deficit. They took five more shots before the final whistle. Elisa Cruz's shot in the 69th minute and Mia Aviles's shot in the 74th minute were both denied by West Alabama's keeper.
  • Senior Gemma Crowe made six saves in the match to limit the damage.
