CBU falls to No. 13 West Florida

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Christian Brothers University women's soccer (0-11-0, 0-7-0 GSC) was defeated, 5-0, by nationally-ranked No. 13 West Florida (8-1-2, 6-0-1 GSC) on Friday evening at Signaigo Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • West Florida's Emma Beltz broke the deadlock quite early after putting the ball in the net in the seventh minute, 1-0.
  • CBU held the Argonauts to their one-goal lead until Julieta Limardo passed to Mya Swinton for a second goal in the 21st minute.
  • Clair Mueller recorded a shot on goal in the 24th minute which was saved by the keeper.
  • The Lady Bucs went into the half only down by two goals. Kaylee Allen faced fourteen shots and made four saves.
  • UWF added three goals to their tally in the second half. The Argos scored in the 50th, 61st and 62nd minutes to go up 5-0 in short order.
  • Shots from Alexa Franklin and Ana Dutra in the 71st and 75th minutes both required saves to be kept out of the net.
  • Gemma Crowe made five saves on 14 shots in the second half.
