Women's Golf lands an individual in the top three at the Battle for the Belt

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – The Christian Brothers University women's golf team shot 68 over par to finish tied for eighth place at the Battle for the Belt, hosted by Henderson State. Junior Cesilee Mokry topped the player leaderboard at one point during the three-round tournament and finished tied for third place.

The Lady Buccaneers were in fourth place after both the first and second rounds. They shot 13 over par and 18 over par in the first and second rounds, respectively. They shot 37 over par in the third round, but were held above three teams at the conclusion of the tournament thanks to their strong opening rounds.

Mokry was the tournament's leader after both the first and second rounds. She birdied three holes and made par on the rest to shoot three under through round one. In the second round, she sank three more birdies and holed an eagle on a par five on her way to shooting one over par. She shot six over par in the third round and fell slightly to third place after being overtaken by golfers from Missouri Southern and Henderson State.
