Lady Buccaneers fall to Georgia College on the road

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Christian Brothers University women's soccer team (0-7-0, 0-3-0 GSC) fell to Georgia College (4-4-2, 0-2-1 PBC) by a final score of 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Field. After conceding four goals in the first half, the Bucs steadied in the second half and snapped their three-match goal drought.

OF NOTE
  • Junior Elisa Cruz opened her goal-scoring account at CBU.
  • Sophomore Ana Dutra assisted on the goal for her third point of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Bobcats scored two goals in the opening two minutes and added two more goals by the 21st minute. 
  • Georgia College's Ali Amrozowicz scored three of the goals for a hat trick.
  • Christian Brothers did not concede another goal for the remaining 69 minutes of the contest despite facing 17 shots with 10 on goal.
  • Goalkeeper Kaylee Allen made four saves in the second half to preserve the second-half shutout.
  • Dutra delivered a ball in from the right side on a free kick that Cruz converted into a goal in the 64th minute.
  • The Bucs totaled 11 shots in the match with five on target.

NEXT UP

CBU will host Delta State on Tuesday, Oct. 8th at 5 p.m. in a return to conference play.
