Volleyball narrowly defeated by Montevallo in five sets

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Christian Brothers University volleyball faced a tough battle against Montevallo, ultimately falling in a hard-fought 3-2 match at Central State Bank Arena on Friday night. CBU came close but couldn't secure the victory after five thrilling sets.

Set-by-Set Breakdown

  • Set 1: Montevallo took control early, winning the set 25-18. Their offense was strong with 18 kills and only one error, achieving a hitting percentage of .486.
  • Set 2: CBU bounced back, claiming the second set 25-16. This time, the Lady Bucs kept Montevallo to a negative hitting percentage (-0.024), capitalizing on errors to gain momentum.
  • Set 3: The third set was highly competitive, featuring 10 ties and six lead changes. The Lady Bucs narrowly edged Montevallo 26-24, thanks to their solid serve game with five aces.
