CBU ranks ninth in GSC All-Sports Trophy standings through fall season

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a largely successful fall season of competition, Christian Brothers University is ranked ninth overall in the Gulf South Conference All-Sports Trophy standings. CBU men's sports finished fifth in the rankings while women's sports came in tenth place according to the Gulf South Conference's calculations that takes into consideration regular season and conference tournament finishes.

Men's soccer and men's cross country were included in the calculations that placed Christian Brothers in the top half of the standings for the Men's All-Sports Trophy. The CBU men's soccer team finished second in the regular season standings and reached the semifinals of the GSC Tournament. Meanwhile, the CBU men's cross country team came in sixth place at the GSC Championship. Both teams were regionally ranked for the majority of the fall season while men's soccer was receiving votes in the national poll by season's end.

Women's soccer, women's cross country and volleyball were included in the calculations that put Christian Brothers ahead of both Auburn Montgomery and West Alabama in the Women's All-Sports Trophy standings. The Lady Bucs were only a fraction of a point behind Delta State in ninth place. The CBU women's cross country team finished in eighth place at the GSC Championship to earn five points while volleyball's regular season finish ahead of West Alabama earned 1.5 points towards Christian Brothers' total.

Regular season finish counts towards 75 percent of the final overall rank and tournament finish counts at 25 percent for the GSC All-Sports Trophy standings. The final standings will take into account all GSC sponsored sports for the 2024-25 season.
