MEMPHIS – The Christian Brothers University women's basketball team dropped a hard fought 71-61 contest against Auburn Montgomery, on Saturday afternoon, at Canale Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED  

• A closely contested opening quarter saw the Lady Bucs down 20-14.
• CBU used a 20-15 second quarter to trim the deficit to 35-34 at the break. 
• A Tae Leatherwood three-pointer gave CBU a 37-35 lead, early in the third quarter. 
• AUM then scored nine of the final 11 points to stretch the lead to 54-43.
• CBU cut the deficit to 65-59, with 2:06 left, but AUM allowed just two points the rest of the way to earn the win. 

KEY STATS | NOTEABLES  

• Tae Leatherwood led CBU with 14 pts, three rebounds, four assists and four steals.
• Destiny Kiner added 12 points with four rebounds and four assists.
• CBU forced 16 turnovers. 
• AUM shot 46 percent from the floor, compared to 38 for CBU. 
• The Lady Bucs were held to just 28 percent from beyond the arc.
