Softball Sweeps Lane

JACKSON, Tenn. - The Christian Brothers University softball team hit its way to a doubleheader sweep of Lane, in non-conference action, on Tuesday afternoon, at the West Tennessee Sportsplex. CBU took the opener 9-3 and finished the sweep with a 12-2 (5) victory in game two.

GAME ONE: CBU 9 (6-4) LANE 3 (8-3) 

GAME CHANGER:
With CBU leading 3-2, in the fourth, it took advantage of a two-out error to extend the lead to 5-2.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • CBU had an 11-4 advantage in hits. 
  • The Lady Bucs took advantage of four Lane errors. 
  • Riley Simpson led CBU, going 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. 
  • Summer Alexander, Mackenzie Bakel and Abigail Garrison had two hits apiece. Garrison also drove in a pair of runs. 
  • Kiera Coulon hit her second home run of the season.
  • In her first start as a Lady Buc, Haylee Alberson went the distance, allowing three runs on four hits, with three strikeouts.

CBU jumped ahead 2-0 in the first on a two-run home run by Coulon.
