BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. - The Christian Brothers University softball team completed a doubleheader sweep of Blue Mountain on Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Bucs took the opener 5-2 and finished the sweep with a 3-1 win in game two.
GAME ONE
FINAL SCORE: CBU 5 (17-27) BMC 2 (15-24)
GAME CHANGER:
CBU jumped ahead 4-0 after the third to help get the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· CBU had a 9-7 advantage in hits.
· Josie Bond led the way going 2-3 with three RBIs.
· Brynley DeLancey had 2 stolen bases.
KEY PLAYS:
The Lady Bucs went up 3-0 in the second on a three-run single by Bond. CBU plated one more in the third to go up 4-0.
BMC plated 2 in the fourth on a 2RBI double.
CBU closed out the scoring in the 7th to make the final score 5-2.
GAME 2
FINAL SCORE: CBU 3 (18-27) BMC 1 (15-25)
GAME CHANGER:
The Lady Bucs plated 3 in the third to get the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
· CBU had an 9-4 advantage in hits.
· Summer Alexander led the way going 2-3 with a homerun and 2RBIs.
· Emily Schooler pitched a complete game striking out 4 and allowing only 1 run.
KEY PLAYS:
BMC went up 1-0 in the first inning.
CBU plated 3 in the third and held on for the win.
