VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Christian Brothers University baseball team split a pair of contests against Valdosta State University, on Saturday afternoon, at Billy Grant Field. The Bucs fell 10-4 in game one and came up with an 11-5 victory in game two.
GAME ONE: VSU 10 (24-15, 16-10 GSC) CBU 4 (14-30, 6-23 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
Valdosta State used a big final two frames to secure the victory.

Dalton Pyzer went 1-4 with a homerun and two RBIs.

The CBU pitching staff combined for two strikeouts and left nine Blazers stranded.
KEY PLAYS:
CBU jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning from a Dalton Pyzer 2 RBI homerun and a Matthew McDaniel RBI single.
Valdosta State scored one run in the second inning making it 3-1.
The Bucs added another run from a Cory Steinhauer homerun in the fifth inning making it 4-1.
From then on it was all VSU, the Blazers scored nine unanswered runs to take the 10-4 game one victory.
GAME TWO: CBU 11 (15-30, 7-23 GSC) VSU 5 (24-16, 16-11 GSC)
GAME CHANGER:
The Bucs nine runs in the fifth inning ensured the game two victory.

VSU scored 3 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning making it 11-5, but the Bucs defense would hold off any more runs from the Blazers to earn the win.
