Memphis, TN- The Christian Brothers University volleyball team delivered one of its most impressive performances of the season Saturday afternoon inside Canale Arena, sweeping Alabama-Huntsville in straight sets (25–22, 27–25, 25–19). The victory not only snapped the Chargers' 12-game winning streak but also kept the Lady Bucs' postseason hopes alive as they chase their first Gulf South Conference playoff berth in years.

CBU came out with energy and focus, matching every UAH run with grit and execution. Addison Waggoner led the charge with 16 kills, 12 digs, and a service ace, continuing her strong late-season form. Setter Carleiny Morillo orchestrated the offense with 32 assists, while Ella Schumacher and Sarah Helms combined for 18 kills on the outside. Defensively, Sophia Nowacki anchored the back row with a team-high 24 digs, keeping UAH's offense in check all afternoon.

After taking the opening set 25–22, CBU showed poise in a thrilling second frame, battling through multiple ties before closing it out 27–25. The momentum carried into the third, where the Lady Bucs pulled away late to complete the sweep and spark celebration among the home crowd.

With the win, Christian Brothers not only stopped one of the hottest teams in the league but also positioned themselves for their first playoff appearance in years, a testament to their growth, resilience, and belief down the stretch.

Head coach Lashaunda Spurgeon praised her team's determination: "This was a statement win for our program. We stayed composed, trusted each other, and played with heart. The girls earned every point."

CBU will look to keep the momentum rolling as they close out the regular season and fight for a long-awaited spot in the GSC postseason tournament.
