CBU Drops a Tough One

Memphis, TN- In a resilient performance at Canale Arena, Christian Brothers University (CBU) showcased a high-powered offense and elite ball movement, finishing with 18 assists on 21 made field goals. The Lady Bucs' efficiency was on full display in the paint, where they outscored Montevallo 30–10. This interior dominance was fueled by a balanced scoring effort and a selfless offensive strategy that kept the game within a single point heading into the final period.

The Lady Bucs' defensive tenacity forced a second-quarter collapse for Montevallo, holding the Falcons to just four points and 12.5% shooting from the field. During this stretch, CBU's bench provided a significant spark, contributing 10 points to help the team secure a 30–26 halftime lead. Emily Sawyer anchored the defense with three blocks while maintaining a near-perfect offensive performance, shooting 5-of-6 from the floor to finish with 12 points and five rebounds.

Individual brilliance defined the CBU effort, as Mya Bourget led the team with 14 points and three assists while shooting 50% from the field. Point guard Alice Conrad orchestrated the floor masterfully, dishing out a game-high seven assists and adding 12 points of her own. Additionally, Hanne Alvarez Verdaguer contributed an efficient nine points on 4-of-6 shooting, highlighting a roster that remained competitive and dangerous throughout the conference matchup.
