CBU took both games of a doubleheader defeating Bethel by scores of 8-0 and 9-8. The wins lifted the Lady Bucs' win total to 10 for the year.
In game one,
Gabby Dickerson and
Emily Schooler combined to pitch a two-hit shutout. Dickerson pitched the first three innings with three strikeouts and no walks. Schooler pitched the final two innings walking one and striking out three. Dickerson got the win to improve to 5-5 on the season.
Mackenzie Giesler was a perfect 3-3 at the plate with one run batted in.
Katelyn Harmon drove in three on one hit.
Haylee Alberson picked up two hits while
Marin Beeson and
Abigail Garrison added a hit apiece. Beeson and Harmon both doubled for CBU.
In game two, CBU held off a Bethel rally in the seventh to claim victory. CBU jumped out to a 6-0 lead through the first two innings before Bethel rallied scoring five in the third. CBU added a run in the fourth and two in the sixth to seal the win.
Haylee Alberson had two hits and drove in two for the Lady Bucs.
Riley Simpson also had two runs batted in.
Ashley Williamson,
Summer Alexander,
Jenna Bettge and
Mandie Barrow each had hits for CBU.
Vivian Watts got the win for Christian Brothers lifting her record to 2-1 on the season.
CBU returns to Gulf South Conference action when they travel to Auburn-Montgomery for a weekend series.
